Chase Project
Every year, the FU International Academy helps organize two CHASE projects by providing a month of intensive “Spanish for Tourism” classes to prepare the students for their 4-month internship on one of the Canarian Islands.
Chase projects are offered to any of the participating 16 Hospitality and Accommodation Schools in Europe, located in 12 different countries. This time around, we present to you our 3 Hungarian students, who arrived here on the 21st of February 2016. They have now headed off to start their internship in Fuerteventura.
About the Programme
During their time here, they had a 30-hour week of intensive Tourism classes in order to improve their Spanish skills and prepare them for their upcoming internship.
After their classes, they were free to join the afternoon activities offered by the school. Those activities included salsa and flamenco lessons, visits to the botanical garden nearby, beach volleyball down at Playa Jardin and even free surfing lessons every Tuesday.
Accommodation + Additional Activities
They also got the opportunity to go to Loro Parque, which is a well-known “must see” in Tenerife – possibly because of the incredibly talented animals they have.
We always have our students stay in the Teide Mar Hotel, which provides breakfast and dinner, and is located really close to the school – a comfortable stay is guaranteed. Furthermore, we organize transportation from the airport upon arrival and at the end of the group’s stay.
Time to Say Goodbye
Last weekend, on the 19th of March 2016, it was time to say Goodbye. Our partner transfer agency picked up the group at the hotel and took them to the harbor in Santa Cruz where they had to get on a ferry to Fuerteventura. Now, it’s time for them to make use of what they’ve learned in those 4 weeks of intensive Spanish for Tourism classes. Experience has shown that the students always settle in quite fast thanks to their improved Spanish skills, which is why we keep supporting The Chase Project twice a year.
