Tenerife has two airports: Tenerife North Airport (TFN) and Tenerife South Airport (TFS). These airports provide access for travellers from all over the world. TFS is mostly for international connections and TFN is mostly for domestic flights. So, depending from where you’re coming the airport will depend.

If you’ve had the opportunity to visit Tenerife before, you might be familiar with the local TITSA buses, easily recognizable by their green colour. These buses offer the most affordable way to travel around the island. To plan your journeys, you can visit the TITSA website where you’ll find timetables and fare information. Generally, the buses, locally known as guaguas, depart punctually from the main bus stations. For specific bus stops, it’s advisable to check the TITSA app to confirm the schedule.
To save even more money on your travels, we suggest purchasing the TEN+ card, which can be found in various shops and bus stations. You can even purchase the card upon your arrival at the airport. An added benefit is that the TEN+ card is also valid for the tram service in Santa Cruz.
Please note that you can pay by cash or credit card in the bus.
By utilising the affordable and efficient TITSA bus system and considering options like the TEN+ card, you can navigate Tenerife economically while enjoying the convenience of public transportation.
Renting a car provides the utmost comfort and freedom to explore Tenerife at your own pace. With a rental car, you have the flexibility to discover the island’s treasures whenever and wherever you desire. Additionally, parking is mostly free, and there are no tolls on the highway that connects the North and South regions.
At the airport, you’ll find various rental car providers such as Cicar and Autoreisen. It’s important to note that due to high demand, we strongly recommend reserving a car online before your arrival on the island.
Prices typically range between 180 and 250 € per week, and making your booking well in advance increases your chances of securing a vehicle.
If comfort is a priority and price is less of a concern, we suggest opting for a taxi. Taxis in Tenerife are known for their speed and reliability. You can either call a taxi service and request it at the desired location or head directly to a taxi station, where a driver will be available to transport you to your preferred destination.
The Uber service has recently started on the island but is currently only available in the South. Check the app for locations, prices, and availability.
