FU International Academy offers young cosmeticians and hairstyling students the chance to gain valuable and relevant qualifications through Hair and Beauty Internships in Tenerife. Through this experience, interns have the chance to both familiarize themselves with completely new treatments and use the knowledge obtained during their apprenticeship to help further their career, while also having the chance to explore Tenerife through different leisure activities and group excursions.
Interns start this program with a basic Spanish course in order to linguistically prepare for their work experience, specifically learning language associated with cosmetology and hair styling. The Hair and Beauty students can choose specialized courses to learn new techniques as guided and evaluated by professionals.
After their theoretical training, participants spend 2 to 6 weeks at work placements in hair and nail salons, as well as hotel spas. Here, students work hands-on with local clients as they complete specific tasks including the application of hair extensions; hair washing, coloring and styling techniques; and/or massage, nail and makeup technique. This allows interns to build confidence in their chosen profession through real work experience as they learn about local work practices.
