From different regions in Europe
As you might know, we are welcoming apprentices from very different regions in Europe – including English, Hungarian, Slovenian and Italian students – who have been involved in our latest projects. We are now happy to present you to our German visitors. The 11 cosmetician interns arrived on the island on Saturday and they will remain here for 5 weeks learning Spanish and practicing their passion.
This is the first time that we are working together with students of Herwig-Blankertz- Berufskolleg, but it certainly won’t be the last time. A second group is already preparing to visit us in September 2015. All the participants will start their journey with a one week intensive language course that’s focused on communication practices with clients, specific vocabulary popular in the beauty saloons and general knowledge about Spain and the Canaries.
Puerto de la Cruz
After completing the preparation stage, the students will start practicing in the beauty saloons of Puerto de la Cruz. Working with international clients for eight hours a day, five days a week, will be a real challenge but also an outstanding opportunity for the young and curious participants to learn a lot. Of course, during their free time, the students will be able to visit the attractions of the island and enjoy the sunny beach.
During last year’s project, we had really good experiences and the students were satisfied with their new skills and knowledge. The employers were happy to have their enthusiastic helpers, who were able to speak with the clients in their mother tongue. Some of the apprentices also received offers to stay longer at their work placements.
