PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The Third Week of the Aschaffenburg Group at the FU

New week, new activities, new ideas. As the students of the Erasmus+ mobility project gain more and more knowledge, they become more confident about their skills, and find that they still have a lot to discover on the sunny island. Michelle and Janina have narrated the third week’s highlights.

Time seems to go by so quickly as we’ve already reached the start of our third week here. Of course, there was a lot to learn. We will tell you more about our week in this article.

Interns on Tenerife

Our daily tasks

We continued our morning seminars with Pablo where we were introduced to SEO and learned more about:

  • On/off page factors
  • Link Building
  • Optimization of your website

After the seminars, we had to complete several other activities, which included searching for quotes and photos about Tenerife to create a design. The best design was then selected by our group and the SEO Team, and will be used as a Facebook post. Another task we had was to write articles about our weekend trips like the one to La Gomera or Santa Cruz. We also worked on our individual epic blog post that we already started last week. It was proofread and returned to us with feedback to make the necessary changes. Moreover, we carried out different researches about upcoming events in Tenerife and Erasmus+ groups and pages on Facebook and Pinterest.

Weekend time

Our weekend was again full of activities. This time we decided to do a guided bus trip to the historic centre of Orotava and to the mountain “Teide”, the highest mountain of Spain. We liked the colorful little houses of Orotava and were really fascinated by the landscape that seemed quite similar to the one on the moon. The trip took nearly the whole Saturday but, in our opinion, it was worth a trip. Other members of our group visited the Siam Parque in the south of Tenerife.

3rd week_2

On Sunday, we went to the Playa Martiánez to wait for the train which brought us to the famous Loro Parque free of charge. When there, we joined all the animal shows: sea lions, orcas, dolphins and the parakeets. They all performed very well but we particularly enjoyed the dolphin show the most. It took us approximately five hours to walk through the whole park, which is clearly indicative of just how huge the park is. We saw a wide variety of animals – from turtles to sharks and jellyfishes – and also liked very much the grand aquarium with its various fish species. We were surprised to discover that in the Animal Embassy,” the doctor’s activities, such as the baby station and operations, can be observed by visitors.

Here are some comments from our participants:

Fabienne Moenike about Loro Parque:

“I really loved the animal shows, especially the sea lion show. I also think the monkey Pole-Pole was one of the highlights of the park!”

Tobias Schumacher about Siam Parque:

“It was a great experience and I would definitely visit the park again. I liked all the slides, in particular the ‘Tower’.”
