This March, 10 Hospitality students from the Matera region of Italy arrived at the FU Academy. Their aim was to enhance their CV´s through vocational training, absorb and experience the local culture and off course to improve their Spanish.
In the first week, the group studied ´Spanish for tourism´ which had emphasis only on relevant speaking practice. This equipped them with the necessary communication skills to interact in their placements.
For all the students, the hotel placement was the ideal setting to put into practice what they had learnt during their studies. The Chefs learnt cooking practices unique to the Canaries, while the restaurant service students gained invaluable ´hand on experience´ in the cafe, restaurant and bar.
