On Saturday, 24.10.2015, a group of 11 economic and media technician students from Slovenia, was warmly welcomed at FU International Academy in Tenerife. The Erasmus+ participants completed a three weeks long online marketing course together with a marketing internship at SEOintheSUN. They learned about content marketing, search engine optimization and social media strategies. Nika, one of the participants, shares her experiences and outcomes of this amazing opportunity:
Hola, my name is Nika!
When signing up for Erasmus+ internship abroad they didn’t know the exact destination. I was looking forward to it no matter the destination but I think that even if I could pick I couldn’t have picked a better one. I couldn’t believe it when I found out that I will be staying in Tenerife for three weeks.
In this three weeks I had an unforgettable experience, I can’t point out what was my favorite thing when staying here because there were so many. From the first weekend when visiting Loro Parque to the last when going to the south part of Tenerife and visiting Playa de las Americas, I enjoyed everything!
We stayed in the hotel Pez Azul which is located in north part of Tenerife in a city called Puerto de la Cruz. I enjoyed working, we worked from 9am to 5pm at the FU International Academy.
I learned a lot at the seminars we had in the morning, and worked in new programs like Canva, Trello and WordPress. I liked writing blogs the most and improved my English skills. Before coming to Tenerife I had Spanish lessons for 2 years and I improved my Spanish here.
After work we usually went to our hotel, got ready and went exploring Puerto de la Cruz. We soon found our favorite spots and tried their traditional dishes. The best two for me were coffee barraquito and papas arrugadas.
For anyone that is in doubt if signing up for internship abroad I would recommend it a hundred percent! It is a great way to see the world, meet new people and get to know their cultures. This is also a great opportunity to get more independent.
I fell in love with the island and I will definitely be visiting it again!
