One of the reasons our Online Marketing courses are becoming more popular and is that the content can be adapted to any level of student – from high school to postgraduate students
In May 2014 we had two groups from the following sending partners:
The first group was from a Formazione senza Frontiere Via Oslavia in Italy.
1. For.s.F. – Formazione senza Frontiere Via Oslavia, 79 06034 Foligno (PG)
This was the second project we organised with Foligno, the first was in 2012. Profile: 15 students aged 16 – 18. 3 week project
As well as the Marketing course they did 15 hours of Spanish lessons (at 4 levels as some had a more previous knowledge) in our Cervantes institute accredited language school.
Their programme covered many topics to develop knowledge of Online Marketing including:
- Introduction to Content Marketing
- Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Basics
- Use of Canva (Graphic Design Tool)
- Create an infographic with Canva
- Niche Website
- Google Analytics
- Use of different tools
- Slideshare
- OnPage Optimization
- Work with Google Docs
- Google+
- Development of students own Website project with – Wordpress
- Use of WordPress
- Translations from English texts into Italian
Although it was a day long journey back to Italy they all went home happy, richer in experience and had gained valuable knowledge that they can take forward into the world of business later in their careers.This group stayed in a 3 star half board apartment hotel and has lunches at our FU Cafe during the week. They had a guided excursion to the National Park El Teide and airport transfers organised by us. They shared the current project and relevant documents with the rest of the group and actively participated in discussion of results, holding a presentation on the final day. They received certificates from the Language course and our Marketing school SEOintheSUN.
The second group was from a Business Polytechnic College in the west of Sweden.
2. Högskolecentrum Bohuslän Uddevalla kommun 451 81 Uddevalla
Profile: 5 post graduate students specialising in ecommerce – 4 week OLM course
The aim of the project was to learn how to create an online business mainly selling through the retail website Amazon. This involved research into bestseller products on Amazon, finding suppliers in Asia for these products, re-branding them with their own label (outsourcing the graphic design), doing a financial calculation for the whole process and writing a small business plan around it. This included exploring and acquiring further knowledge of the following skills:
- searching online for bestseller products
- negotiating with suppliers
- outsourcing graphic design
- WordPress installation
- setup of an ecommerce site
- blogging
- financial calculation
- product presentation
- creating a website to showcase new products – www.youtreatme.com
In addition the group attended seminars on:
- writing skills in ecommerce,
- psychological copywriting,
- search engine optimization,
- how to achieve success on Amazon, landing pages
This group were in their 20’s so stayed in our self catering shared student apartments 5 minutes from the Academy and enjoyed exploring the island by car. They really appreciated the warm climate and long hours of sunlight in Tenerife. They made friends with other students from the Academy and generally had a great experience here.
They received their Europass and SEOintheSUN certificates on the last day of the programme. We hope to welcome more students from the same college in the future.
