Erasmus+ Encompasses the Previous Programmes

At the FU International Academy Tenerife we have been planning and implementing EU funded projects for 14 year but this year it’s all change! The new name Erasmus + for education, training, youth and sport encompasses the previous programmes.

erasmus_text This funding enables European residents, from all walks of life, to travel to another country to learn languages, develop new skills or gain work experience. It combines different programmes from the 2007-2013 period:

  • Long Life Learning programme (LLP): Grundtvig, Erasmus, leonardo and Comenius
  • International Higher Education programmes: Erasmus Mundus, Tempus, Alfa, Edulink, Bilateral programmes
  • Youth in action programme

Erasmus+ is implemented through two strands:

  1. education, training and youth
  2. sport

14.7 billion euros are available in grants until 2020 and will be distributed within 3 Key Areas (KA1, KA2 and KA3) and two specific actions (Jean Monnet and Sports).

KA1 – Learning Mobility of Individuals

  • Accreditation of Vocational Education and Training (VET) organisations
  • Accreditation of youth volunteering organisations
  • School education staff mobility
  • VET learner and staff mobility
  • Higher education student and staff mobility
  • Accreditation of Higher Education Mobility Consortia
  • Adult education staff mobility
  • Youth mobility – gaining work experience in another country

KA2 – Cooperation for innovation and the exchange of good practice

  • Strategic Partnerships addressing more than one field
  • Strategic Partnerships for School Education
  • Strategic Partnerships for Vocational Education/Training
  • Strategic Partnerships for Higher Education
  • Strategic Partnerships for Adult Learning
  • Strategic Partnerships for Youth

KA3 – Support for Policy Reform

  • Dialogue between young people and policy makers

JEAN MONNET

  • Teaching and research (Chairs, Modules & Centres of excellence)
  • Policy debate with academic world and exchanges (networks and projects)
  • Support to institutions or associations activities
  • The creation of a Jean Monnet label
  • Jean Monnet also provides operating grants to specific institutions

SPORTS

  • Support for collaborative partnerships
  • Non-profit European sport events, involving several countries, relating to social inclusion, HEPA, etc.
  • Strengthening the evidence base for policy making
  • Dialogue with relevant European stakeholders
