CHASE Network Monitoring Visit from Sweden

This week we welcomed Merike Merelaid (International coordinator and CHASE Network Coordinator) and Meeri Ahlstedt (Nutrition and cold kitchen tutor) from the prestigious Ester Mosessons Catering school in Goteborg Sweden, for a monitoring and fact finding visit.

The programme of visits included a review of our students accommodation, a kitchen visit to the Canarian restaurant, Tito’s Bodeguita, and a delicious dinner there in the evening. On the way to the south the next day we visited the open air food market in Santa Cruz and the food hall at El Corte Inglés department store to discover food specialities from all over Spain.

Then it was on to the south of Tenerife via el Médano where we had seafood lunch overlooking the breezy atlantic Ocean. The next few days were spent in the south of Tenerife meeting the staff in our Academy in Costa Adeje, Annia and Denise, and visiting their student Sara who is doing a 4 month internship at the Hotel Costa Adeje Palace. They also viewed other hotel facilities with a view to bringing more students to the excellent hotels in our lovely warm island.

It was a sad farewell to Tenerife on Sunday 19th as they headed back to minus 6 degree temperatures in Gothenburg, their home town. We hope to welcome more of their students to Tenerife later in the year. ¡Hasta la vista!
