Another Group of 29 Slovenian Erasmus+ Students in Tenerife! A Mobility Project Gone Viral!

We can’t get enough!

It turns out, Erasmus+ Tenerife can’t get enough of its Slovenian students! In April, we organized another Erasmus+ mobility project with 29 participating students from 2 different schools – 13 from the Secondary School of Economics Ljubljana and 16 from the Murska Sobota School of Economics. In this effective three-week-programme, that we provided to many groups before, the students learned all about the different areas of Online Marketing and received insight into possible future careers.

The programme that has worked well for all of our recent groups consists of seminars, additional workshops in the mornings, and tasks to work on in the afternoons in order to make practical use of what they learned earlier.

Accommodation + Additional Activities

During their time here, the students stayed in shared flats in the 3* Pez Azul Aparthotel where they were also provided with breakfast and dinner daily. They received lunch at the FU Cafe at our school. And, as with our last group of 30, this group was divided into two groups for the afternoon tasks, and were assigned two trainers for supervision and support.

Also included in the programme were free afternoon activities which comprised of a salsa lesson, a beach volleyball match down at Playa Jardin, and a visit to the botanical garden. These activities assisted with team building as they allowed the students to get to know each other better.

To make sure that they would also benefit from doing this mobility project on the Canarian Island of Tenerife, we included 2 one-day-excursions in the programme. One was a guided tour to the Teide National Park, which is an essential visit for anyone visiting the island who wants to find out more about this volcanic island and the Mount Teide, Spain’s highest mountain. The other excursion was a trip to Loro Parque, which is a spectacular zoo that is known as the “must see” of Tenerife and is conveniently located in Puerto de la Cruz.

About the programme

In week 1, we made sure to give the students a detailed overview of the most essential tools of Online Marketing and talked about one of the most important topics, which is Content Marketing. The tasks they were given in that week were chosen specifically to improve their writing skills and help them get used to the tools we had introduced to them.

In week 2, the students were given the opportunity to make use of their improved writing skills as they were taught how to create a website using the most common website builder WordPress. They were also taught how to make the content they would put on a website Search-Engine-Friendly by doing an SEO check.

Week 3 was entirely dedicated to Social Media Management – another topic that has become very important for online marketers. First, our Social Media Manager and one of their trainers, Orsolya, showed them just how impacting and important social media has become over the course of the last few years. Then, in the following days, they went through each platform and talked about their functions, advantages and disadvantages. Also included in the last week was the final presentation that helped to recap all the knowledge gained during this programme.

To us, those presentations are always very important as they demonstrate that the students can actually use the tools they got to know and are also making use of all the tips and tricks that we have given them, especially as it relates to creating good content. After seeing these presentations, we are happy to say that this mobility project was just as effective and successful as other recent ones.
